    No Tears for Marion Jones

First, Olympic track star Marion Jones gets stripped of her medals.
Then she gets sentenced six months for lying to a federal judge about her use of steroids (she also got an addition two months on a separate case...).

And she wants our sympathy. After all, she has babies at home, and she doesn't want to be without them.

    Boo-hoo, baby!

You know, it would be easy- as a black man- to say "hey, y'all just don't like to see a black person to succeed." First off, that, of course, is 99.9999% hogwash, and two, that would be like saying that a child molester got a too harsh of a sentence just because his overactive hormones controlled his brain. Again, bull-fucking-shit! S/He could go and get help to get those urges under control.

This sentencing continues a domino effect that's rippling throughout the sports world. at least two major sports leagues- Major League Baseball, and the National Football League- have joined up with the U.S. Olympic committee to stem the tide of drug/HGH (human group hormone) doping. The National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, and Professional Golfers association are expected to join the NFL and MLB.

Personally, I couldn't care less about who uses steroids or HGH. If the responsible parties feel that it helps them, what's the harm? on the other hand, many people- mainly our nation's youth- look up to these sports (and in many cases, Hollywood) personalities as role models.

But as one sports personality states, they're not really role models, are they?

    Just a thought.
