    It's Bracket Time Again, Baby!

The 2008 NCAA Division I Men's basketball Tournament is afoot!

Tomorrow night, Coppin State and Mount St. Mary's will battle for the right to get its' ass chewed up by the #1 East seed, North Carolina Tar Heels. No doubt this will be a fun time, over the next two weeks. Teams that no one has heard of- including our own Portland State Vikings- get to play Cinderella (and in the Vikes case, spoiler to the #1 Midwest seed, Kansas Jayhawks in Omaha on Thursday). But in the end, one team will emerge as victor on April 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Yahoo is saying that UCLA will win the championship. I admit, I have some bias for the Tar Heels., but UCLA looks way too good, and I don't doubt that the Bruins will win. But North Carolina will give them a run for their money.

    Hello, Kristen.

A young woman who goes by the name of Kristen- real name Ashley Alexandra Dupre- is apparently the young hottie who brought the political career of New York governor Eliot Laurence 'Client #9' Spitzer's career to a crashing end.

Spitzer, as we all know, has been linked to a federal case concerning the Emperor's Club VIP, a high class prostitution ring. According to a section of the 47-page document releases to the public, 'Client #9' met 'Kristen' met at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC on February 13 and 14, and collected $4300 in cash.

OOOOOH, BABY! The governor and his young date doing da nasty in DC.

You can read this New York Times story by just clicking here to http://nytimes.com/2008/03/13/nyregion/12cnd-kristen.html?_r=1&oref=slogin , as well as the link to WCBS-TV, by just clicking on the title.

No doubt, I know of two adult magazines that are fighting for first dibs on Kristen. All i can ask of Hugh and Larry is, "boys, please be civil."

(Then again, let the scuffle for first rights begin. I love nasty fights. And I love scandals, too)

Of course, the legal ramifications of Mr. Spitzer's actions could go far beyond his not keeping his end on keeping government clean. Let's see the shit list 'Client #9 could face:
    (Source WCBS-TV New York)

    • Money laundering for trying to conceal the source and recipient of financial transactions
    • Tax evasion, if he was an all-knowing party to an all-cash business that wasn't filing taxes
    • Violation of the Mann act for paying for the trip from New York to DC by the call girl known as 'Kristen' (The Mann Act prohibits interstate transport of sex slaves, and/or prostitutes)
    • Misuse of state resources, if he used his state-issued credit card for hotels or meals with prostitutes as well as if he was being protected by State Troopers during his dalliances...and finally...
    • Soliciting prostitution

Court documents say that he may have spent up to $80,000 on escort services. OUCH!

If convicted, he could serve a year in jail for being a john, and up to 20 years for money laundering.

In a sense, he's getting a taste of his own medicine- after all, he's the dumbass who raised the penalty for soliciting hookers.

    Tsk, tsk, tsk...

'Client 9' Resigns as New York Governor

    barryfunnytv/YouTube

Even bad singing sounds good when the news of New York governor Eliot 'Client #9' Spitzer's resignation hits the wire.

    topnewsmakers/YouTube

Spitzer will step down by Monday. His lieutenant governor, David Paterson, will take the oath of office of governor and will be the state's first black governor.

A lot of women around America are, however, asking, "How could Silda (Spitzer's wife) stand by this bum?" Cue Tammy Wynette:

    andreseries/YouTube

Of course, privately, I bet Silda is conferring with her divorce lawyers. But divorce may be the least of his troubles. He may be facing criminal charges- after all, in many jurisdictions, prostitution is illegal. And if he is indeed convicted for promoting the world's oldest profession, he could be wearing prison pinstripes- and probably changing his name to 'Ellen'.

A footnote to this: I'm reading the 47 page document now. I skimmed through the part where 'Client #9' met with one of the defendants (let's just say that the first name may imply that this woman is black...didn't know that Client #9 Spitz liked dark meat better...). I'm actually up to page 19, but if you can't wait that long, go to page 26, part 'b'- February 13, 2008, Interstate Transportation From New York to Washington, DC.

    Oklahoma Lawmaker Rails Against Gays

Uh oh, another politician- guess what political party- is saying that being gay or lesbian is like a cancer.

Sally Kern, who represents Oklahoma City, says that "homosexuality...poses a bigger threat to the US than terrorism or Islam.

    (hear this at http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4423704 ).

And while she was at it, she managed to piss off a few Muslims. The Islamic community demands an apology as well.

What more can I say? This bitch hates faggots and dykes. But she's not gay-bashing- let's make that clear right now. She just says that it's wrong, and societies that support it don't last long. (Oh, I forgot! We're en route to going the way of Sodom and Gomorrah. All because every man in the city wanted two hot, hunky and gorgeous angels...dude!...).

I don't have to explain what I think of this lawmaker's moronic comments. Too bad that making stupid comments isn't always grounds for resignation or firing.

    Sources: Spitzer Closer to Resignation

About a day after New York governor Eliot Spitzer admitted that he paid about $4300 for a call girl, sources say that he is close to calling it quits in Albany. Meanwhile, state assemblyman James Tedisco (R-Schenectady) is considering impeaching Spitzer. He, along with others, are calling for Spitzer to step down as governor. If Spitzer does resign, New York could get its' first black governor, David Paterson, the current lieutenant governor.

Click on the title for the full story from Newsday out of New York City. If you want to see the full affidavit, click here to: http://wnbc.com/download/2008/0310/15557442.pdf.

As a fellow Democrat, I think Spitz should call it quitz...quits, quitz. Couldn't pass up the temptation to go into word play. I looked at tyhe Newsday website, and the video interviews with the common Joes and Janes on the street (mostly Janes). Just about all of them say that they couldn't stand by their men if they found out that they've been cheating with prostitutes (or if you prefer, call girls...escorts...). Of course, with Spitzer- and many others, be it in politics or entertainment- being in high profile positions, that spotlight and magnifying glass will always be on them, and one slip up could cause that already fragile house of cards to crumple.

Like I said yesterday, not every scandal brings personalities down- some even elevated those who weathered the storm (just ask the man born William Jefferson Blythe IV). How Eliot Spitzer handles this may very much determine whether he still has any political life left.

New York Governor Caught in Prostitution Ring

New York governor Eliot Spitzer must be sporting a few bruises tonight- and not all of them verbal potshots from his Republican opponents. Or even fellow Democrats.

The man those in the New York media are calling 'Client #9' admitted today that he was involved in a prostitution ring, and has apologized to his family and his constituents. The wife may be forgiving- even though she may be talking with lawyers about ending her marriage to this crook- but voters...they're entirely different animals altogether.

Of course, extramarital affairs don't always hurt political careers- face it, Bill Clinton received blow jobs while in the Oval Office from some fatso who graduated from Lewis and Clark College here in Moscow on the Willamette; and San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom was re-elected last November despite having an extramarital tryst. Hell, it looks like even that closeted gay Republican senator from Idaho, Larry Craig isn't hurt by his little bathroom assignation.

I could go "Gasp! How could you, Eliot?", or "Shame on you! You're a disgrace to Democrats." But I won't do that.

After all, it hardly surprises me anymore that politicians are sometimes apt to have affairs, too.

I'm just surprised that the current occupant of the White House doesn't acknowledge his. I guess he's too afraid of Laura.

McCain Clinches Republican Presidential Nomination; Ohio Democratic Fight Too Close To Call

As expected, Arizona senator John Mccain has clinched the Republican presidential nomination. He has surpassed the magic number of 1,191 delegates, and has 1,207 delegates to Mike Huckabee's 247.

Huckabee has dropped out and- along with President Bush- will support McCain. Texas senator Ron Paul is still in the race, even as he isn't really on the radar screen.

In my home state of Ohio, it's still a fist fight, and pretty damn bloody at that. Thus far, Hillary Clinton- as I write this- is winning so far (35% of the precincts as I write this). 162 delegates are up for grabs. So I'm basically writing this in real time. Likewise, it's a very tight fight in Texas.

Clinton is the projected winner in Rhode Island, Obama wins Vermont.

7:33PM PST/10:33PM EST: With 45% of the precincts, Clinton continues to hold a formidable lead over Obama 56-42 in Ohio (former challenger John Edwards has 2%. Source, WBNS-TV, Columbus). In Texas, with 15% of the precincts reporting, Clinton trails Clinton by two percentage votes. 228 delegates are up for grabs in the Lone Star state. (Sources, CNN, KPRC-TV, Houston).

7:42PM PST/9:42PM CST: In Texas, the fight is tighter now.
Both Clinton and Obama have 49% of the vote.

I'm looking at the state of Ohio, the county where I was born, Franklin- where the state capital of Columbus is also the county seat- Barack Obama is pretty much a winner there. Cuyahoga County, where Cleveland is located, Clinton leads. In Hamilton County, where Cincinnati is located- and a Republican stronghold- Obama leads 60%.

7:55PM PST/10:55PM EST: CNN projects that Hillary Clinton has won the state of Ohio, taking the 57% of the vote. This could bring her back in the lead.

    In Texas, it's still close.

Stay with CNN for the latest.

It's For All The Marbles in Ohio and Texas

Today in the states of Ohio and Texas, the Democratic presidential campaign may be decided.

Illinois senator Barack Obama holds a 109 point lead over New York senator Hillary Clinton, 1378 delegates to 1269. In Ohio, both are fighting for the 162 delegates, in Texas, a whopping 228 delegates, so if Clinton gets any or all of the delegates of both states, she could regain the lead. and this is something at least one conservative radio talk show host is praying for Hillary to win. Rush Limbaugh believes that Clinton is the best way to keep the Democrats apart on issues.

Another conservative wants Clinton to win- Ann Coulter.

But those are animals for another day.

On the Republican side, Arizona senator John McCain has a 800 point lead over former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. In Ohio, the votes for the 88 delegates are at stake.

McCain, as everyone knows pretty much has the Republican nomination wrapped in his hands- he's only 144 delegates away, and he's expected to win in the four states- Vermont and Rhode Island.
