Republicans- and in a few cases, Democrats- revered him. He was the darling of the conservative movement.
Today, the founder of the conservative magazine National Review, William Frank Buckley, Jr. died while in his study at his Stamford, Connecticut home. He was also a syndicated columnist and host of PBS' Firing Line.
In 1955, he founded National Review.He has written over 50 books as well.

Buckley was 82.
