Hurricane Ike is over the Caribbean as I write this. According to The Weather Channel, the slightly weakened storm is back over the waters, and models have it going over the Gulf of Mexico by Tuesday evening, reaching the central- and much warmer Gulf waters by Friday morning.
Once again, New Orleans is in what forecasters call the 'cone of uncertainty'. Remember, that this storm is days away from landfall, and who knows what track it'll take. However, many models say that Houston-Galveston is the likely target. Could Space City suffer the major damage New Orleans did three years ago?
Ike could become a major Category Two or Three by Friday.
